The Confederate States of America and the United States would both be superpowers had that Confederate Army prevailed. They were before the war, except now the CSA would be a thriving nation rich in resources with manageable debt load and guided by ethical and Christian principles. The argument that the nation is now stronger could also be applied to the American Revolution

Parts of the present day USA would be in different hands - and not just Hawaii. Probably the CSA would have divided in turn between Old South and New South ( different economic agendas) and similarly the North East and Mid-west would have split. Then a Western statelet or union would probably have developed, so one can foresee 5 different countries where now there is one. Slavery would not have survived the Civil War, any more than it did in Brazil. As an economic system it was obsolete and almost unviable. A greater effect would have been in Europe, for there would not have been an America to intervene in WW1, so the Central Powers would not have been forced to capitulate. A negotiated peace of mutual exhaustion that left the German and Austrian Empires more or less intact would have been a situation in which the rise of Hitler would have been impossible.

A big reason for the Civil War was states rights vs federal rights. Slavery would have ended anyway. (At least in America. Slavery is still currently a big problem world wide) Should the Confederacy have won - we would be more of an agricultural country rather than an industrial country.

watching nascar would be a sacrament, and reading would be outlawed. only incestuous marriages would be permissible, and a full set of teeth would mark one as being a terrorist (or terist, if you were one of those "winners"). you get the picture, eh? ;-)
