If it's spreading fast then it makes sense that it's moving fast. Charisma works on all levels, it is a form of power. All the great and not so great leaders had or have charisma, yes even Hitler. Without charisma noone would have listened to him. So that is why some churches have adopted a charasmatic approach i guess. Of course churches target (for want of a better word) poor nations. If you were uneducated and hungry i am sure the promise of a better life in heaven would appeal to you aswell?

First of all its spelled, "Charismatic".
Second, it's been around since the turn of the 20th century. So its over 100 years old and not spreading as fast as you may think.
Third, it is associated with modern renewal movements.
Why is it here at all? It appeals to feelings, experience and ignores logic and reason. It has some dangers as it is also associated with all manner of exaggerated claims, such as healings, miracles, tongues, etc. all of which end up being bogus. Yep, all their claims end up being unproven, or proven wrong. It can be dangerous when they pray over someone and they stop taking their medicines because they have "faith". Or when someone gets a prophecy - - they'll all be wrong too.

It's because they are Charismatic, they have a lot of popular appeal, and put on a good show. Such churches always do well among the poorly educated and impoverished because they offer hope. They are doing well in Africa and South America because there are large numbers of uneducated and impoverished people in those places.

Why does Joel Osteen Have 40,ooo in his Texas church. It's the feel good message that people want to here. They rarely if ever talk about sin or problems. Everything is going to be perfect. Jesus said "There will be trials" , Most of these people are following the Pastors not Jesus. Who said many will come in my name.....Phonies

People in those countries desperately need to believe in something good; they need to believe that things will get better and have faith. They need to believe in a superior power which will help them, if not here on earth, then in afterlife. So many people in many countries throughout the world have lived in poverty and seen so much disease, as well as much violence. I am sure religion gives them hope and brings them a tiny bit of peace.
I believe God has much to do with religion spreading in other countries, because this is his will.
I am all for it.

It appeals to an emotional need most of us have. However it doesn't stand the test of time because faith requires knowledge and wisdom to be made firm. The charismatic churches offer a quick feeling of euphoria with little substance but with great promises.

Is NOT a phenomena, it is the holy spirit moving in the "Charasmatic church" and there are many churches being planted in Africa and all over the world to reach the lost souls.
Know Jesus, Know Heaven
No Jesus, No Heaven.
Seek Him
