why do babies hate getting their diaper changed? My friend works at a daycare center and I have to help out there for extra money. Why do they hate being changed so much?

the wipes are wet, and cold. the air is cold...and they just came out of a warm diaper *wink*.

how would you react if someone picked you up while you were enjoying yourself and a very interesting toy....then pulled your pants down...took off your warm diaper, wiped your butt with a wet cold cloth and slathered slimy diaper rash cream on your butt?

lmao!

They don't like being stopped from whatever they were doing. Give the baby something to hold like a small toy. That will keep them occupied while the diaper is being changed.

My baby loves getting her diaper changed. She can be crying and fussing and as soon as I take off her clothes to change her and take of her diaper she starts smiling and cooing, and then when I put them back on she will sometimes cry. Sometimes I undress her to stop her from crying. But I think the reason most babies cry is because its cold and mabye uncomfertable to have a wet cold wipe put on your bum on top of it.

I vaguely bear in techniques whilst i became 2 and wore diapers that if i became instructed my diaper needed be replaced i might usually plop down on the floor or anyplace without subject for my diaper replace, yet there became this one babysitter who used to %. me up and buckle me to the diaper changing table and that i might cry because of the fact i did no longer like it. it quite is unfamiliar ecosystem to them and bounds their area in the event that they're used to getting their diaper replaced on the floor, sofa, or mattress. additionally they could desire to be embarrassed to produce people seeing them as they choose to be inner maximum at a undeniable age. If it started at 3 months nevertheless it may desire to have basically been because of the fact it became incredibly chilly and problematic.

Actually my daughter smiles the most when having her diaper changed, it's a perfect opportunity for face to face interactions. You can make it fun if you put a little extra effort into it :)

Most do not, but if they are fine AFTER it is changed then don't worry too much. If they are crying by the time you go to change them, then you have waited too long!
