I like to think I am a mixture of the two, I know when to play and I know when play time is over.

I used to take things very seriously, but then my brother and his girlfriend committed suicide a month after my 24 year old friend dropped dead from an undiagnosed heart condition. You can't help but gain a new perspective on the fleetingness of life. I was always more concerned about what would happen next - either literally, as in later in the day, or in the future. I literally think I rarely if ever enjoyed the *now*. But since losing three people close to me in such tragic ways, I'm done being so overly serious. Life is for living and although I've always had a sense of humor, I've realized it's actually most important to relax and laugh with life when the going gets tough. Play time is on, my friend.

I am not good at finding a balance with these...
Most times I face the world with sarcasm, because it seems safer to me.... which means a lot of time I am not taking it serious enough...
I need to work on the taking life more seriously thing.

I agree with you. It depends on the circumstances. When it is related to work deadline, or if my kids get sick, I'm handling them very seriously.
But when I'm answering Yahoo!Answers.... well...
I still take it seriously. ;-D
