Belief in a thing does NOT make it real. Your grandma is a nice lady, but she's wrong on that little point. You need to think and decide for yourself whether or not you believe in a being called Santa Claus.

well... how old r u? santa is not real, but he is a saint and is part of religion so he is as real as you consider other saints, but he does not give people gifts, ur parents family and friends do
