There is good points and bad points. Good points are what you have mentioned like enough food, water, human rights, law and order, protection of rights of citizens, freedom of .... The bad points are that it's more or less freedom and justice for a select few like in apartheid states because these countries are very much promoting injustice, human rights and restriction of freedom around the world - in some cases even within the countries like the nikab ban and hijab ban (while Virgin Mary on the pictures are always with her scarf) which restricts the citizens going to schools or work with their hijab or fined.... The other bad points is promotion of promiscuity, pornography and also alcohol and drugs. These are destructive and not really healthy for individuals or society. Another notable bad point might be media (which might not be limited to the west) - there is no such thing as the truth in the news, it's either slander (a lie) or propaganda or gossip (even if it's true it'll be called backbiting in real life). Another bad point is this generation they are interested in being famous, being pop stars, actors, singers which are all to do with fame. There isn't much interest in being admired by God rather than being admired by the people. Another bad point is negative exposure - the children are exposed to lots of negatives things which are not natural like pornography or they are expected to "fornicate" - the environment is very important for a good upbringing, and there is no limit set. Their view point is the view point of their friends and media and society.

Life's only boring if you are. Go surfing, running, paintballing. skiing, kayaking, volunteer for charity work, renovate your house, find a girlfriend (or get a new one), buy a cheap car and race it in banger circuits, move to a new city, the list is endless. The media is not entertainment, only a really bad way to waste time. Life's precious, don't waste it wondering why you're not having any fun. Go out and have fun.

Sounds to me like you are bored in general.
In my humble opnion, there is a lot in Western Culture that is not boring. I find my job to be stimulating, my marriage to be thrilling and my hobbies to be fullfilling.
Perhaps you need to decide what kind of excitement you are looking for and pursue it.
Go skydiving, write a novel, take a college class or pursue something that gives you the mental or physical stimulation you are looking for. Don't wait for the excitement to come to you - go out and find it.

Western Life lacks creativity. You know those off the wall Poets, the often-visual Painter(Think Picasso,etc..) and so forth.. Me thinks the world needs more of these types to stimulate the mind and eyes and hearts. I mean it IS Y2K+6, right? Why do we want to go back to retro-70's when we can all get creative and shape our future?

I think you get out of life what you put into it! It's up to you to get out there and try new hobbies or do the things you know you enjoy doing! Set challenges for yourself and meet new people! Stretch yourself and get inspiration from that 90 year old windsurfer or marathon runner!! (They are out there!!) I think Western life has only become boring because we've all got too bloody lazy and everything's on a plate for us!!

Yes. We have so much abundance that not only are our needs met, but also most of our passions as well. Those in 3rd world countries must worry about where their next meal is coming from and if they will live through the next few weeks. Here in America all we have to worry about is crap like Brad and Angelina and Mark Foley bangin' teenage boys.

Its just you. Life has never been so varied and entertaining. 200 years ago, people worked all day and then went to bed when it got dark. They had no entertainment whatsoever. Now, there are so many choices of things to do that it is overwhelming. I don't understand how anyone with an IQ over 50 can ever get bored.

Hell no partner, I don't find it boring. This morning I did some cattle rustling, had a shoot out with the sheriff and held up the stage. Then in the afternoon I had to hide from the Lone Ranger - and don't talk to me about the injuns!

Yes I know what you mean. Unless you have money you are stuck in a rut. Make a few pennies to pay the months bills & start all over again. For me I get a challenge out of my home business. Its not much but something to strive for at least.

Masturbate lots... LOL.. joking. Um, I use my extra time to read at the library, or look up lots of interesting stuff online... my current major interest is paganism. School, work, volunteering, and having a kid keeps me pretty busy otherwise. Why don't you try getting a rewarding volunteer job? What have you always wanted to do? Maybe you need a vacation. ;-)
