Basically, the insertion is on the bone that the muscle pulls on, the origin is the bone that the other bone gets pulled toward. For example, to flex your arm, your bicep must insert on the radius to flex at the elbow. And the forearm gets pulled toward your body (the shoulder, where the origin is). Think about it logically.
