Ok here is the deal. I got one on Black Friday so anyone who says that they arent getting shipments doesnt know what they are talking about. Ive been talking to people at an EB Games near me and they are sayn they are getting shipments at the end of every week hopefully. Ive been in there everyday for the last 2 weeks looking for a PS3 and they keep telling people to come back on the end of the week. Your best bet is a place like EB Games and to go in there and get to know the peopel who work there. they can give you some info on when the shipments will be. Other stores like Target and Best Buy will also get shipments but they are more impacted with costomers and you probably cant get as much information out of thier employees.

Now for info on the system itself. I dont know all the specs cause i dont really feel like copying and pasting them. You can find them on the nintendo web site. Now if u want to know what its like playing on then i can tell u that. Its pretty fun to play. The game Wii Sports comes with it and so far has been the most fun to play. IT really takes advantage of the new mation sensative Wii controller. You can play tennis by swinging the remote, hit baseballs, bowling (and u can put spin on the ball by spinning the remote like real bowling), golf, and boxing. I also have Zelda and its fun too but it doesnt take advantage of the full motion of the controler. If you love the Zelda titles then its a must buy. Now for other games there isnt a huge selection. I hear Super Moneky Balls is worth a buy but i havent played it. More games like Wario ware and Mario Party 8 will be coming out next year and will probably be the most fun multiplayer games. For $250 it worth the time and effort. They also have things called Mii characters that u make and stay on ur console. You can make them to look like you and you use them in Wii Sports. Its a very fun system and great for families.

Technical specifications
Nintendo itself has released few technical specifics regarding the Wii console, but some key facts have leaked to the press. Known details include:[57][58][1][56]

Processors:

CPU: PowerPC based "Broadway" processor, made with a 90 nm SOI CMOS process, reportedly clocked at 729 MHz[57][58].
GPU: ATI "Hollywood" GPU made with a 90 nm CMOS process[59], reportedly clocked at 243 MHz[57][58] (None of the numerical statistics above have been proven or confirmed)
Memory:

88 MB[57][58] main memory (24 MB "internal" 1T-SRAM,[60] 64 MB "external" GDDR3 RAM)[61]
3 MB GPU texture memory[57] (Though none of this has been proven or confirmed)
Ports and peripheral capabilities:

Up to four Wii Remote controllers (connected wirelessly via Bluetooth).
One SD memory card slot.
Two USB 2.0 ports.
One Sensor Bar port.
Four Nintendo GameCube controller ports.
Two Nintendo GameCube memory card ports.
Mitsumi DMW-W004 WiFi 802.11b/g wireless module
Compatible with optional USB 2.0 to Ethernet LAN adaptor
Storage:

512 MB built-in flash memory.
Expansion available via SD card memory, 2 GB maximum supported capacity.
GameCube Memory Cards (for saving GCN games only).
Slot-loading disc drive compatible with:
8 cm GameCube optical disc.
12 cm Wii optical disc.

Video:

16:9 anamorphic widescreen.[63]
Audio:

Main: Stereo - Dolby Pro Logic II-capable.[65]
Controller: Built-in speaker.

The Wii console is backward compatible with all Nintendo GameCube software and most GameCube peripherals. This backwards compatibility is achieved with the help of the slot-loading drive being able to accept GameCube discs, and a set of four GameCube controller ports and two Memory Card slots, concealed by flip-open panels.[1] A GameCube controller is required to play GameCube games, as neither the Wii Remote nor the Classic Controller will function in this capacity. Nintendo has stated that the Wii console is not compatible with the GameCube modem adapter, broadband adapter, Game Boy Player, AV cable, or AC adaptor.

the wii is awesome. its in high demand because of price and availability, but nintendo wants to sell 4 mil by the end of the yr. they are shipping every 1-2 wks. just call a local retailer and ask or reserve. in the wii u can push (move controller closer to tv), point, move controller and both controllers are sensitive

Of course they will. It is common sense to make a ton of consoles for the christmas season!
