In this case, you'd be strarting as if you never used the pill before. Usually the package has it all spelled out. You can start on the period, or you can start at random time BUT you'll HAVE to use a back-up method for that cycle. That means, paying for condoms. Might as well pay the full price for pills and do it right and not worry about it.

It's no problem to go ahead and start your new pack late. Be mindful, however, of the fact that you will not have any protection against pregnancy. If you are having sex, be sure to either abstain or to use another form of birth control. It is true that your cycle will be thrown off a bit, but you will only experience spotting or your next period will be premature or last long. You also need to be sure to use extra protection for the first 2 weeks of your new pack, like you did when you first started taking the pill.

If you're not just being cheap and really can't afford the pills, have you considered going to a local Planned Parenthood or clinic? They can give you the pills at a much cheaper price (maybe cheaper than insurance or free) if you can't afford them. Others have probably said it, but it is best not to start the pills mid-cycle. The pills already have enough side effects when you take them right. Make sure you use backup!

wow your insurance will cover birthcontrol? that must be nice!! if it is the day you are supposed to start your new pack anyway or a day later it should be fine i'd just be careful. if it's only a day take it as if you missed one dose. the week of your period those pills aren't relevant to the effect of the birth control. you can actually skip those every month if you wanted to. but again it may depend on the type of birth control you are on. i would double check this with the pharmacy for the brand you are on.

Don't. It won't be as effective and mess with your current routine. Either pay for it or just wait til next time you get you're period. Better safe than sorry, unless you don't mind sleepless nights and a lifetime gift. I had a baby 7 weeks ago. Believe what I'm telling you!

you can but you would have to use a back up method during sex for at least a week after starting the pill, ie. condoms. i would also talk to your pharmasist or doctor to be extra sure.

Hmmm. What is more expensive a kid or the non-insurance price? Why are people so irresponsible? Let's think about this.

I don't think there would be a problem with it. It will just change when you have your next period.

No, I don't think so, because you will throw your cycle off completely.
Talk to the Doctor and ask them.
