Everyone seems to blame the alcohol for their bad behavior.

Do you think it's true, that alcohol can make you stay stuff you dont believe in (racist stuff, etc.)? Or do you think alcohol just makes you uninhibited to the point that you say what you really believe in?

I think most people just use it as an excuse, especially celebrities who think they can get away with anything and are untouchable eg Mel Gibson.

However there are some people out there who are very sick and don't eat or drink anything else but alcohol because they need it to escape reality. These people aren't those you see out making trouble they're the quiet ones that wonder the street or sit at home alone getting drunk all day everyday.

Alcohol does change your perspective and makes you do stupid things. At the same time, I think that alcohol gets the blame wrongly when the person who let themselves get drunk enough to do stupid things should be held responsible. There's a difference in drinking to have fun and drinking yourself to oblivion so that you say things and do things you never would have said or done without the alcohol. So blame both, but let the person learn from it.
