Photographs and Video, or a mirror. Whenever I look in a mirror, I think to myself, "Wow I look good" (lol), but then when I'm in pictures or video, I look much worse. I'm a male 13 year old. Why is this? Which do you think is how people see us?

I think that a mirror is more how people see us, I have had girlfriends that were rather pretty, but when I saw them in pictures I was like... who is that? But a mirror reflects back the exact light that it gets... so it's in a way the most realistically lighted, highest resolution, picture that you could have of yourself.

P.S. The thing that makes you look best is confidence, don't let anybody tear you down.

I think what your dealing with is a mixture of three things, what you see in photos in the mirror and how you see yourself in your head. We will never be able to truly see ourselves as others do but having a good, but true, self image helps a lot. Photography is known for being fickle and with photos and videos you are more able to focus in on flaws ones that you may not be seeing in the mirror. Also another great way to handle the situation is not allowing it to be an issue, just be happy with who you are, because unless your Pamela Anderson you cant have surgery every other month to change what you are. Hope that helps.

cameras actually make people look a few pounds heavier than they are because they represent a 3dimensional object in two and crams detail in a smaller space. video might do that too. also when you look in a mirror you automatically adjust your expresion to whatever looks best. unless you have a mirror at the time your about to take a picture you don't get a chance to do that

I guess we don't really see ourselves as we are when we look in a mirror, But maybe a picture or video shows us how we really look, who knows? I think people that like us see us in a better light then people who don't.

Like they say, the camera adds 10 pounds, and from the looks of my last portrait they must have used at least three cameras. The mirror is the true image.

I think it's a psychological thing. Your image in the mirror is only there as long as you stand before it and only you are observing it. Photographs and videos can be copied and distributed among friends so you observe yourself with more scrutiny.

Just for the sake of your sanity, I would accept the mirror - but I think people subconsciously pull a "mirror face" when they look in one, and it's not their normal expression.

I look like crap in photos, but better in videos I think. Some people just aren't photogenic, and maybe you are one of them.

(I liked the theory good looking people look horrible in photos - I wish it were true!)

Let face it....you are skinny. In the mirror you look very close to yourself and you look ok... while in video you just look what other see you as
