Abraham Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky Feb 12, 1809 and died April 15, 1865 in Washington D.C.

In 1816, when Lincoln was seven, his family moved to Perry County (now in Spencer County), Indiana.

In 1830 Lincoln's family moved to Macon County, Illinois.

Lincoln spent most of his life in Illinois until moving to Washington D.C. when he became president of the United States.

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809, to Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks. He was born in a one-room log cabin on the 348 acre (1.4 km²) Sinking Spring Farm. The farm was in Nolin Creek, three miles (5 km) south of Hodgenville, Kentucky. If I recall correctly, Lincoln was born in Kentucky but resided for a good part of his life in Illinois. Illinois has a state motto of "Land of Lincoln." There are many interesting historical exhibits of him and his family along with many of their personal possessions in Illinois.

He was born in Kentucky, moved to Indiana when he was seven and moved to Illinois some time later. He considered Illinois his home state.
