Good for you! One of the things I have found when buying gifts for young children is that it doesn't matter how much a present costs, but rather how big it is. Buy the biggest thing you can find cheaply, wrap it in nice paper, and watch the happiness.
Good luck

Teachers have an advantage in that they get summers and other school vacation times off. This time can be used to earn extra cash. Ask your fellow teachers what they do. Maybe there is an after school paid assignment such as a coach's ***'t or supervisor for events that you could take on. Otherwise, start selling Mary Kay or Avon or Lia Sophia Jewelry.

I know of a few places single mothers have turned some extra cash.
First Ebay finding outlet stores and shopping for designer items and selling the, on ebay works for one girl I know. She sells purses don't ask me any more than that I am not that well versed on purses.
Second I know a lot of people that are notaries allowing them to charge for witnessing the signing of documents and so forth.
If you type well you could do some transcribing work they usually pay a few cents a words but that adds up quick.
Hope that helps!

Hey Honey,
I was at a place of losing everything about a year ago due to bad financial decisions. A friend told me to go see a CPA that went to our church and now things are on track and running good. Just find someone that knows their business and stick with it for at least one year.

Tutoring, or a part time weekend job?
Can you cut out expenses--like buy groceries in bulk for more savings, eat out less, and buy him clothes at rummage sales & thrift shops? Pack a lunch instead of buying one, bring a thermos instead of buying coffee, and never buy junk from the vending machine!

Contact the Red Cross or a church in your area. It sounds like you work very hard, so don't let your pride get in the way of calling. Everyone needs a hand up once in a while. I know I did.
