When answering a question do you:

1. Think about it then give a simple, short answer.

2. Think a little longer then answer with a simple answer followed by a few details. Usually the reason for your answer.

3. Think for a long time then give a long explanation along with your answer. Sometimes including personal comments or advice.

I have seen many different ways of answering and I am just curious what you do.

At various times I fall into all three styles, but I usually am found squarely in the second slot.

I'm naturally a 2 who can sometimes get long-winded, or sometimes gets tired (or even short-clipped) if a question doesn't need much thought at all.

Thanks. (And I do try to always remember to offer appreciation for a question that I answer. I was not raised to be rude.)

It depends on the question. If I feel strongly about the subject or feel there hasnt been any adequete answers so far I'll give a detailed answer. If the question is stupid or requires only a shot answer I'll do that. I've never given an essay answer, I think they are tedious to read AND write so I don't bother.

It varies from question to question. If I can answer with a short sentence, then I do. If I feel the answer needs more of an explanation, then I do that. But most importantly, and more important to me than the length of the answer...

is that it is an HONEST ANSWER. And if I don't like you, I will let you know. If I think you have a good question, I'll let you know. If the question is just so ridiculous that I have to answer in outrage or unmitigated disbelief then I'll let you know.

Just like Carlos Mencia, I speak my mind and I "keep it real."

Number two. I like to give people reasons why I answer this and that way to give them a little extra. I hate when people just answer yes or no without explaination because most likely if someone answers me that way, I'd be left in a limbo and wonder "why?"

I usually think about it and then give a short, simple answer.

I think I'm #2. Really depends on the question, but usually I do explain why I say what I say.
