It depends on where you live. Certain places have restrictions on volume, composition and the retailers you can purchase from.

STATE LAWS

Pepper Spray is LEGAL in all 50 states. However, possession and/or use may be regulated or prohibited by law in some jurisdictions. If there is any questions, check with your local police department.

MASSACHUSETTS - Massachusetts residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers in that state.

MICHIGAN - OC Pepper Spray can be no stronger then a 2% concentrate. CS is the only Tear Gas accepted and can be no larger then 35 grams per can. No combination spray allowed. Check out our Michigan approved pepper sprays

NEW YORK - New York residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers or licensed Pharmacists in that state.

NEW JERSEY - New Jersey residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers or licensed Pharmacists in that state.

WASHINGTON DC - Possession must be registered with the DC Metropolitan Police

CALIFORNIA - It is illegal to purchase, posses, or use any pepper spray that contains more than 2.5 ounces net weight of aerosol spray

WISCONSIN - Certain types of Pepper Spray are restricted. However, No Tear gas, or UV Dye or combination sprays. OC can be no stronger then a 10% solution. Can must be between 15-60 grams only. Must have safety feature.

SHIPPING RESTRICTIONS:

Pepper Sprays cannot be shipped outside the continental US, which includes Alaska, Hawaii, and US Territories.

Pepper Sprays cannot be shipped by any method other than GROUND.

Pepper Sprays cannot be shipped to the State of New York

Pepper Sprays cannot be shipped to APO or FPO mailing addresses.

Neal - I live in Chicago and pepper spray and tasers are both illegal in Illinois. However, like 4th of July fireworks (which are also illegal in Chicago) most people just drive to Indiana and buy those items. If the cop wanted to he would have confiscated your pepper spray (but then he'd have to do some paper work).

You can buy pepper spray at your local hardware store. I've seen them near the check out lanes in the "last minute" purchase section.

In my town you can get them at any gun store. Possibly even a sporting goods store that sells hunting supplies. And they are quite strong.

Believe it or not, the Dollar General Store's have them behind the counters. Just go ask the clerk. But I warn you, their not all that strong.

ummmm......lets see...but a pepperspray the get a ring thingy majigi and but it on the spray then put it on ur key...there u hav it...a chain
