A girl in my class invited me to her birthday party. We get along and I think we could become good friends. My dilemma is, she is new to this school, so i dont know her very well. As a result, I don't know what to give her. I asked her and she said "I don't care, whatever is fine, as long a my friends are there" which doesn;t really answer my question. SO I was thinking i should give her some money and some candy (gift cards won't work because 1. we live in Italy and do not speak Italian 2. I do not know where she likes to shop) Do you think this is to impersonal? how much is appropriate (she is 12 turning 13, I am 14)

thats probably good - she'll understand since you dont know her that well. maybe 15-20 dollars and maybe a little something else like yea candy or something like lipgloss or a cute necklace would be great

That sounds good- everyone likes candy and money, and you could also give some lip gloss or a small cute stuffed animal something like that. And I think $25 is good- not too much or too little.

Instead of buying her a gift, maybe take her out for a coffee or to get her nails done. That way the two of you can bond your newfound friendship while still remembering her birthday.

it kinda is, you could give her someting that's fun, but she can use like bath salts or season of tv shows. accessories work great like a purse filled with candy or funky necklaces and earings.
