There isn't anything different with the actual unit, but the accessories. The biggest difference would be no hard drive in the core. You need a hard drive to play old Xbox games, Xbox live and save games. Check out this link for the rest of the differences.

DO NOT BUY A CORE COUNSOLE IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS.....THAT IS ALL YOU NEED TO NO...YOU CAN't DO ANYTHING WITH THEM
