If the family does not turn the child over to an undertaker for a burial I think they have no choice but to cremate them as medical waste.

Do you have any other suggestions?

As someone who HAD to have a MEDICAL TERMINATION, i'll tell you what I know. Because my baby as wanted and the termination was done for medical reasons, not for birth control, I was given several options. First, did I want an autopsy done on the baby? (yes) and did I want to burry the baby myself (no) or did I want to take part in the fetal burial program? (yes) My baby will be cremated and burried in the spring with all the other babies that were concieved in love but for medical reasons, had to be terminated. As for abortions that are done as birth control, the babies are generally disposed of as medical waste. Also remeber, most abortions are done very early in the pregnancy, the babies are little more than a blob of bloody cells. Very sad but true.

this is a sensitive issue. people here are acting like u offended them by asking what happens to the fetus. u r in fact just curious. wouldn't people who don't believe in abortion want the world to know how messed up they treat the babies.

i don't know what they do with the bigger babies. but most abortions are done before 3months. the babies are just inches long and it comes out as blood, i believe.

Sometimes they are taken to the lab to do a genetic sample - especially if it's just a miscarried fetus or it was aborted due to genetic defect - to confirm the diagnosis. All blood and tissue is disposed of by medical facilities in the proper ways, generally by controlled, high-temperature incineration.

Uctually Vanish why don't you do your research and you'll find out that it isn't a pile of blood when it's aborted. Does it not have hands and feet and a head when the doctor sticks it's scissors into the back of the head and pulls it out? Well then obviously you are a moran and don't know what the hell you're talking about. try and watch an abortion video and see how you feel after you see it.

The medical term is "products of conception" and they're sent to the medical laboratory for thorough evaluation and then disposed of by inceneration.

Sometimes they are sold to private contractors who sell them to universities and researchers. Abortion clinics make money this way. See the link below.

Some parts are used for testing and the rest is thrown away. People throw away a human, it's disgusting. Glad you're against it, we need more people in this world with brains!

Sometimes the parents request them (very rare)

Sometimes they are sold to labs for testing and research

Sometimes they are simply disposed of with the other medical waste.

Dumpsters. Google it. There is a Catholic group who goes and gets aborted fetuses out of Dumpsters and gives them a proper burial.
