There were no real 'winners' as it was declared a stalemate bi the Allies, however, many felt the Germans were the losers including unfortunately, Adolf Hitler, who promised to exact a revenge on the world for the Treaty of Versailles that followed, pushing back their borders in drastic humiliating manner. He promised to return Germany to its glory... a superpower, a dominant nation. WWI ended with a cessation of hostilities... an armistice, thus the celebration of Armistice Day (now Veterans Day) every November 11th, the day WWI officially ended in 1918. World War One, which ushered in some of the most inhumane and brutal wartime methods or weapons, was also called "the war to end all wars" - too bad it wasn't.

i don't think the outcome was so clear cut, but the USA was a big winner. after WW1, the US had proven its ability to conduct worldwide military operations.

oppositely, the big loser of WW1 was Germany, I'd say. the penalties imposed on Germany left the country impoverished, embarrassed and unstable. these bad times in Germany allowed the Nazis to gain power and start WW2.
