I am listing cd's that I have on amazon.com and when I put in some of the upc codes, everything matches up except some of the dates that are on them are different. So if the listing says 1992 and mine says 1988, does that make mine more original? and if so where do I go to find out if it really was released then or not?

google it. type in quotations "such and such"+"original release date" and you should come up with something.

Go with the copyright date on your CD. That is definitely correct. You can search your CDs at http://www.wikipedia.org to find the release dates.

go to the artist's website, where they should have a discography listing the release dates.
