Try chocolate Popsicles. No caffeine. I don't know about you but I loved frozen treats when I was pregnant! Enjoy!

Ton of water=have your Dr. check your blood sugar. You may also be needing magnesium-eat a banana every day and if the craving doesn't get better in a week, you may need a supplement. Up to 1500mg spread out throughout the day is safe for non pregnant people and I have taken slightly more than that if I'm sweating alot or carrying twins. It'll help keep your bloodpressure in check too and help keep you regular, but be sure you talk to your Dr. as some people need to take calcium and zinc along with magnesium. As to how much caffeine and chocolate: If you can, try to limit yourself to two cups coffee a day and one little bar dark chocolate a day. Most Dr.s aren't very strict about sweets but I disagree with standard practice on this issue and think we Americans should be more moderate especially in pregnancy. Don't beat yourself up if you go over once in awhile it's just a goal to strive for.

It might be the milk (calcium) in these foods that your body is actually craving. While chocolate won't "harm" the baby, it might curb your hunger for healthier food. Try eating yogurt or drinking skim milk instead of high-fat, high-sugar foods like ice-cream and cocoa. A little chocolate syrup in a glass of skim milk might satisfy the craving. It's very important to get the vitamins and minerals you need as your baby develops, so make sure you save plenty of room for lean meats, beans, whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies and take your prenatal vitamins every day! Good luck mama!!!!

I think a little bit would be ok. I am 5 weeks and addicted to Chocolate milk! I drink fat free milk though, my concern would be the weight gain rather than the caffeine because there is not a whole lot in chocolate. I did read an article about how chocolate seems to be good when you are pregnant and helps to calm the baby and you down. Less stress!

As with all things, you need to excersise some moderation. I don' know if there is an "exact amount" that you can have, but you do want to try to not over-indulge. Not only is the caffeine bad for baby, but chocolate has tons of calories and in order to prevent yourself from putting on a lot of excess "baby weight", you should limit your in-take. I craved steak and double-stuff Oreo's with my first son, and chicken salad and milk with my second. Needless to say, I gained far less weight with my second child than with my first.

Chocolate has a lot less caffeine than coffee or soda. If you wanted to, you could have a hershey kiss or mini-bar everyday. Just remember, whatever you pack on during pregnancy you will need to take off eventually-that's the worst part of cravings!

i had the same problem early in my pregnancy and i ate the chocolate ice cream. I would just try and make up for it by eating extra veggies and fruit or an extra glass of milk. You have to indulge once in awhile and chances are this will pass so just eat the chocolate.

As long as you aren't over doing it you'll be fine. That's the good thing about being pregnant, you get to eat all the good stuff! Just do it in moderation and you and the baby will be fine.

I was a regular coffee drinker when I was pregnant and my baby was perfectly healthy. I'm sure chocolate isn't going to harm your baby.
