Was it in a natural underground cave or man-made tunnel?

12.2Km. It was a borehole dug by the former USSR, called the Kola borehole- just to prove a point of being able to dig the deepest hole! It took nearly 20 years to dig.

The gold mines in South Africa are between 5 & 8 kilometers deep so I guess that's as far down as anybody is going because it needs huge refridgeration and ventilation plants to keep the atmosphere down there livable.

I think its the Mariana Trench in the Pacific??

Its a massive hole in the sea that goes down 4 miles deeper than Mount Everest goes up.....so pretty deep I think!

All the way to the core! unfortunately the landed in a time vortex and ended up in 1789 and everyone thought they were crazy and put them in a mental hospital! I know, shocking...I was sure they'd have melted too!
