Why are so many black people poor and uneducated? (Compared to other races)?

I'm not trying to be racists, but this is a real question. I go to school with a predominately black population and I'm caucasian. Blacks tend to be the ones with the poor grades and are lazy at school.

Well, do you suppose it might be because the USA used them as slaves until the emancipation proclamation. They were not allowed to learn to read or write and if they were caught doing this, they would be whipped. When they were freed, they had no money, no where to live.

It is a disgusting piece of history that makes me ashamed. I realize that some cities have more of a problem with this than others, so I blame society on this. However, there are those wonderful people who rise above their poor level and work hard, make high grades, get scholarships and become famous people.

I am not a racist either, but sometimes I can understand why black people hate white people so much. I thank God that they all don't feel that way. USA has made great strides in correcting this horrific event, but until we get rid of the white supremacists, like the KKK, Nazis, etc. it will not change.

the reason is because most blacks have single parents which tends to be mother, without a father how are we suppose to know the true meaning of right from wrong, so you know what that means we find father figures such as rap stars, or the gangsta on the block who take you under their wing, put us in a path of destruction, grades start failing, the mind drifts away from what really matters, lazineess which sometimes come from saling drugs, fast money, why u ask, cause there was no man there to look up to, no father figure, the streets start to influence us, and you know where that leads JAIL. The black community suffers from THAT, that is the answer, because if you think for 1 second my people chose there way of life because of there self being your WRONG, there are hard working black people, talented people, as a matter of fact the other races bite our lingo, our slang our culture, you think that we are downgraded because of our color,wake up, there is no color there are people and thats it, there is type, there are types of people, so before you start trying to pen point a race you should first get a understanding, sence you realize, why dont you help them, ask them why they are the way they are before you go and make ludacris assumptions

Because they believe that they have a built-in excuse - everyone in the world is against them - so they don't try. However, that isn't exclusive to black people. That is a mentality that alot of people - black, white, purple, green, yellow - have. If they think they can win the blame game, then they will lay around and do nothing.

It may appear that way to you because you are in a position to see many more black people than you do white. If you were in another place, the white people would probably act the same way.

Alot of them cant help that they are poor or have poor parents especially if they are in highschool. Some of their parents cant afford to send them to the more elite schools or dress them in the best clothes. It all starts with their background, if their parents are poor, they cant do much for them. So I think you need to understand some of the things that can hold many of us back. Are you well off or your parents are well off? Do you know what its like to be poor?

Why are so many whites trailer trash? and sleep w/ their cousins? See how stupid you sound. You cannot generalized blacks into one category. You can't say many blacks because at my school many blacks make good grades, are well-off and educated. My family and I are not destitute, we live in a nice house and a nice area and I graduated at the top 15% of my class. There are many successful African-Americans in this world and others who work hard and sometimes can't get out of the ghetto. Your comment can work for any race and beside people are already prejudice against blacks-you can't say its not true because if it wasn't then why is the KKK still around, why are some people still racist? From the minute your ancestor drag my ancestor onto that boat we've been look down upon. Many blacks as well as other people have to work twice as hard to be able to have the same chance as a white male. So please do a check on all the successful African-Americans-especially those who came from the ghetto before you make a stupid racist comment like that.

1st of all i believe that ur question was very disrespectful.You go to one school not all schools in the world so you wouldn't know if all black people are lazy.And secondly I doubt it very seriously if you are the only one in your entire school with passing grades.Instead of trying to criticize other races take a look at your own.If you look at statistics there are far more Caucasians on welfare than African Americans.So what you need to do is continue to get good grades so you wont be a statistic

Well,I make good grades,and I am not lazy.Its probably just the school you are going to.That's part of the reason why I homeschool.
