It is only one mile (coming from a runner, it sounds easy from me, but, it really isn't that long) Make sure you get plenty of rest tonight and maybe drink one or two water bottles to avoid dehydration. I am assuming it is in the morning (the time most people run) so don't eat a huge breakfast. A bagel and a banana with a bottle of water should get you going. Make sure to go through some stretches and go on a light half mile jog to get your juices flowing and muscles warmed up. Don't pace yourself too much during the run. You should start out slow and build your way up to go faster and faster as the race goes. You should be going on your fastest race pace during the last 1/4 mile and sprinting with about 1/8 to 1/6 of a mile to go. Oh yeah, make sure you don't walk much, if not at all. You should never walk. If you absolutely have to walk, go at a very slow running pace. NEVER STOP RUNNING!!!
I hope this wasn't too much information. I assumed you weren't an experienced runner since your last mile was 10 minutes.
I hope this helped. Good luck.

drink a lot of water tonight, and maybe a bottle or two of water about an hour before you run it so that you dont get cramps but youre well-hydrated, and pace yourself..keep a good steady speed and then in the stretch sprint to the finish
