I'm looking at a Peugeot 307 estate, top spec and it's an ex-mobility motor. It's 3 years old with 24'000 miles and it's £5474. When I look at other 307's with similar spec, they are about £1000-£1500 more. Why is this, it's the first time Ive ever thought a car was too cheap.

Why buy this one if you have doubts?

Research your market, is this one cheap because it is green? Or white, both are hard for dealers to sell, they usually knock £500 off the price!

Make sure your SW is a 7 seater!

Air Con is a must have!

Do try a HDI, this might cost more to buy, but it will sound better, drive better, be cheaper to tax, and better on fuel, and you will get more for it when you sell it than a petrol equivalent!

It will also be just as quick or even quicker than the petrol model off the lights.

A 50,000 mile diesel will cost the same as the 24,000 petrol and be better! Servicing is less frequent too.

If you look hard you might find a swanky one with half leather seating, they are rarer and very sought after, if you find one, put a deposit down quick!

Im not saying rush into it, I'm saying have a look around.

Ex Motobility cars tend to have a good resale price as they don't amass big mileages. Any damaged caused by the previous owners gets repaired before auction at a specialised centre before being distributed to various auctions for sale. It's a big operation designed to maximise the resale value of the cars. They will be cheaper at auction as there is no warranty to fall back on.

No, the car is bought by the garage from Motability Finance Ltd. this is not a registered charity as people would believe and is a profit making company. you will always pay market value for these cars so my advice is always shop around.

A lot of mobility cars have been adapted for disabled drivers so make sure you check it out fully before you buy, you could be missing the brake pedal or something!
