J.I.T usually means "just in time" such as a "just in time" inventory system. This prevents a company from having a huge amount of cash invested into inventory that will just sit at a warehouse. They order what they need and have it delivered "just in time" to get out to the customer.

JIT means "just in time". Suppliers and vendors deliver goods when they are needed by their customers so the customer doesn't have to stockpile huge inventories which tie up cash.

If I make no mistake, it is Just In Time which is used largely in inventory operation.
