Ok, next week is the tryouts for my talent show. And, I'ma lways singing really loud and I am always yelling at my younger siblings. Everyday. I noticed when I screamed today, I couldn't scream as loud as I normally do. And it was hard for me to scream a little. I really want to sing for the talent show, and my voice is like a little hoarse-ish and a little raspy.

I am so scared it's not even funny. Please help me!! What can I do to make my vocals come back to normal? I'll relax my voice, but most importantly, answer this question WILL MY VOICE GET BETTER?!?!?!?!?!?!?! PLEASE!! HELP! IM SOO SCARED! IM GOING TO START CRYING!

Relax, your voice will get better!! As long as you aren't getting *really* sick, you'll be okay. Make sure you rest your voice, don't clear your throat even if it feels like it, and drink plenty of fluids, especially warm clear liquids like tea. Use vitamin C or cough drops to soothe your throat. Lastly, make sure your throat has plenty of moistness even without the liquids-use a humidifier when you sleep, take warm baths, etc.; that will help your throat stay moist while your vocal cords recover.

Basically, even if you don't look sick, treat yourself like you are, but the most important part is to rest your voice!!

You have to give them a rest. I'd pick a song that requires more feeling than power. The Man I Love by Gershwin, Not That Easy by Valeze or Mary by Fisher.

drink some coffee, it is a diaretic and will relax your vocal chords (it relaxs the intestinal tract also, thats why people use it to have their morning crap before they go to work)

ive heard of some crazy chick singer bjork who drinks honey before her shows to help with that. maybe some cough drops or chloraseptic might help too.
