There are a few really knowledgeable baseball people in here. The ones that come to mind right away are:

Craig S who gives pretty accurate answers almost all of the time.

Ozgard who loves his Yankees but is pretty objective

Georgie Porgie who has a good insight on the game but who may not be the most objective baseball person in here

Yankee Bill who usually asks some very thought provoking questions.

The Mick "7" usually has excellent answers. He thinks them through and doesn't short change the question. Knows a lot about the game.

There are a few others like Nacnud & MichaelJack548 who know a lot about the game.

Hey Georgie, when did you go back to the Detroit "D"? To answer your question, there are a lot of good baseball people in here. It's nice that some enjoy our take on the game.
Even though Georgie Porgie is a Tiger fan, we forgive him and he does add a great deal to Yahoo answer.
Ozgard always has a good handle on the game and asks some excellent questions
Craig S always has thoughtful answers and is very objective, (you hear that Georgie??)
Kimtastic has her hands of the pulse of the game as well.

Try not to get caught up with the hate questions, they do nothing for anyone. Look for the in depth insightful questions that make you think.

Just remember, have fun with it.

There are only a hand full of good baseball people in yahoo. The biggest problem is finding a decent question to answer. Questions like"What's your favorite team?" drive me crazy. You have to look for the really in depth questions and sometimes that's are to find. These are the type of questions where you will find people like:

Kimtastic
Georgie Porgie
Craig S
The Mick "7"
J Far
Ozgard

If you see these people answering questions it's usually because it's a question worth answering.

Just so you know and you choose who is the best in your opinion, I played baseball through high school, Division 1 college and played 4 years of professional baseball reaching AA with the then Montreal Expos.

I now coach for a high school varsity team in Northern Nevada.

I have proof if you need it.

I would almost bet on me when it comes to knowledge of the game. I spend a majority of my free time studying, watching, and playing baseball, and therefore could answer any multitude of questions about the game. Unfortunately I don't answer enough baseball questions (mostly because of my disinterest in most of the inane questions asked) to achieve a high amount of answers on the subject.

I spend most of my time in either Military or Employment because those are my past and present professions, respectively. I feel that those are where I lend the most knowledge, although baseball is my favorite subject.

You really can not trust the people with a lot of points, because they pick their favorite team and just spend all day defending them. For instance, if a Boston Red Sox fan had 60,000 points, and the question was:
Who is the best pitcher in the American League? I think it is Chien-Ming Wang.
They might answer:
Oh my god, he sucks! The Yankees have terrible players that they overpay for, the best pitch is Curt Shilling.

Even though in 2006 Chien-Ming Wang earned $353,175, and Curt Shilling earned $13,000,000. If you ask me, just look at the most detailed answers. I normally don't answer much other than Yankee questions, because I know all about them and their history, and could give a good answer. So what I do is just look for who sounds like they know what they are talking about, because some people answer almost every question for points, and others know what the actual answers are, so points can be deceiving.

its all opinion but I think if someone gives a good answer that is well thought out and informative, then their points should not simply be discredited even if you don't share the same opinion.

People who have lower ratings may've joined later but people who legitamatly can answer questions shouldn't be shut out. still this was a good question to ask becuase the majority of people are clueless and don't know it (lol).

I would go with people who have a high percentage of correct answers and answer a decent amount of questions. If their percentage is high that means they are knowledgable about the subjects they answer, and if they are looking in the sports portions, chances are they know a little bit about sports.
