I wouldn't doubt that God gives us talents...but drawing can be learned by practice.
I look at my experience of about 20 years. I am 22.
I first started tracing cartoons ( I loved it when I was a child) I then started working with the grid style. You use a picture, make a grid...then decide the size of your drawing and make a bigger grid (calculating the same measurements with a bigger scale size).
After you practice this for at least a couple of months, regularly...You will have the eye of an artist. Start by focusing the itme you will be drawing and measuring either with a pencil or your fingers from your perspective, and start drawing. (Remember to research about 1pt, 2pt and 3pt perspective, and the byrd-worm eye)
No child is born knowing how to draw, he'd be a genious. We all learn everything we know how to do, and it's never to late to learn. So get your tracing paper, pencils and lots of erasers (because you will need them) and start drawing.
Good luck!

Remember:

Practice! Start drawing something you are interested in like faces, or still, life, trees,or whatever. Get some books from the library, one with step by step guides.

Drawing is essentially a gift from God but there are techniques that can allow you to draw quite correcly. But if you are really bad, dont delude yourself you will never be a Degas or a Rembrandt.

Hey Travis,

You need to practice. Try looking with your focus point at an object. Your pencil on the paper, represents that focus point. Now, outline the object with your Eye, and your hand moving at the same time as your focus point, without looking at your hand. When you have outlined the object, you should have a closed outline on the paper.

Try looking the band's name up on YouTube, that's how I found out the name of a song of a band I like.
