It could mean that it is moving faster and faster to the right or it could mean that it is moving slower and slower to the left. It could even mean that it is changing direction, changing from moving left to moving right.

It can mean two things:

1. That the object is accelerating towards your right, in other words, if you are facing north, the object is accelerating to the east.

2. Acceleration is not just the increase of speed, but also the change in direction. So if a moving car makes a right turn, it is accelerating to the right.

The statement probably has a illustration with it.. a force is pushing on the object such that it will accelerate to the right...
