I gained about 30 lbs over the past year due to a medical problem, I already feel pretty crappy about my figure even though I am only 3 lbs overweight.

Now that I pregnant, I feel pretty sad that I am going to gain another 20-30 lbs. I just don't want to feel depressed about my body for another 9 months.

How did you deal with it? Any words of encouragement?

My doctor said I can eat healthy and walk daily and if I lose weight that way then its okay, I just can't cut my calories.

I think that it's completely normal, when you're pregnant, you're so emotional and unsure of yourself, I was so self conscious when I was pregnant because I was skinny my whole life and then all of a sudden I couldn't fit into any of my clothes but I didn't look pregnant yet, I just looked fat, you get over it though, once you feel your baby move for the first time. It just doesn't bother you as much after that. What I would suggest doing is buying a pregnancy yoga tape and doing it nightly, walking two miles a day (which also helps with labor) and doing belly dancing, which was created centuries ago for pregnant women to help stay in shape and make the delivery process easier. It'll make you feel so great when you're pregnant and it'll help you to lose the weight after you have your baby also. Good luck and congratulations!

Sweetie, its ok . Its completely normal to think about it because you are gaining pounds right? Just Walk everyday.. Stroll on the park is great, a little cleaning keep moving daily and youll be fine. You have to eat so your baby gets nutrients.. thats final. Just light exercise daily there is nothing else you can do. The nice thing about all this is that you loose most of the pounds after the baby and only keep at the most 10 pounds but it also depends on your body type so dont sweat it and enjoy your pregnancy ok? Start decorating for when the baby is due or prepare for the day.. STay Happy and Congratulations!

Pregnancy weight is an issue with just about every woman. The thing to think of is this - you're putting on the weight because you want to have a healthy, beautiful baby. And after the birth, just remember it takes 9 months to put on the weight, so figure on at least that long to take it off.

Girl...don't stress yourself over gaing 20 lbs.! Enjoy having a reson to "be fat" for a while. With exercise you can drop the weight after the baby. You will be fine

it's typical to be worried about how much you'll gain. First of all, I wouldn't worry about it too much because it's a natural part of pregnancy. If you were back down to a manageable weight and were working out before you got pregnant, you should be able to exercise while you're pregnant (just don't overdo it). They say that a woman who is in good shape before and during pregnancy will bounce back fairly well afterwards!

Try to focus on the health of your baby. Of course you're going to be concerned about gaining weight, but it's something to worry about *after* having your baby.
Pregnant women are beautiful! You won't look fat, you'll look pregnant. Hang in there and Congratulations :)

i think its totally normal... as a society we are always trying to enforce losing weight...but i LOVED being pregnant. Try not to focus on the weight gain or you will miss out on the absolute joy of carrying a child. Think of what is happening on the inside, not the outside.
You WILL lose the weight afterwards...

Get over it by knowing that you are doing the best by gaining the weight for that sweet little creature you are creating inside you.
