The light bulb is burned out and it is very simple to replace.
The bulb will cost about $3 from your local dealer and you can pry the clock out of the dash easily with a small thin flat head screw driver and then unscrew the bulb from the back of the clock.
Make sure you have the keys out of the ignition when you do this repair, other than that it is very simple

It's a loose electrical wire or a light bulb is burnt out. Can be easily changed. Take it anywhere to be done quickly.

there wont be anything wrong- its just an electrical wire that will be loose behind the dash.
Same reason why stereo's, indicators and heater sometimes dont work. Dont take it to a garage, as they will charge a fortune, there should be a circuit diagram in the handbook, or if not replace anything thats loose- anyone who knows a bit will be able to do it for you.

Sounds like it might be a fuse.....located right under your dash on the drivers side.
