I have not put on weight since as I have not been that crazy hunger way that I was. Is it possible to now maintain at the same, I am now six months pregnant? Or is it possible to lose any weight without harming the baby?

i know it is a staggering amount! I had no sickness, but all I could think about was food for three months. The nurse said it was better going on than coming off, but I don't want to put on any more.

I put on a huge amount of weight when I was pregnant with my son (2nd baby) I went from 9stone at the start to 13stone by the time he was born! It took me over a year to loose the weight but he was born healthy which is all I cared about, If I had dieted through the pregnany he may not have got all the things he needed to grow big and strong so put your feet up grab that big bar of chocolate and munch away happy in the knowledge your growing a happy healthy baby!!!!

That is a lot of weight for the first 3 months! It's now in your pregnancy than you should be putting weight on - about a pound a week as your baby is starting to lay down fat. So you probably will put weight on still, even if you eat very little.
You are obviously worried about all this, but pregnancy isn't the time to be embarking on a diet. Just wait 3 months and then worry about it.
Good luck!

I did exactly the same as you, I put on a hell of a weight when I was pregnant, I ate to stop myself feeling sick. Most weight went on in the 1st 4 months. In total, over 9 months I put on 4 and half stone. I was advised by my midwife at 5 months to go on a diet, i didnt, still ate but not to the extent of the 1st months. If its any consulation the wieght will drop off you after the baby is born. In 6 months I was back to 8st 5. But try and cut down, there is nothing worse than having a baby and everyone thinks your still pregnant!

That is a lot to gain in the first 3 months, but no, I wouldn't start dieting or hard exercise to lose it. Wait until after baby to worry about weight. I know lots of women who gained 50 - 70 pounds with their babies and lost it all after.

wow... thats alot of weight to gain in 3 months!! its not healthy at any time in a pregnancy to lose weight. But you could try to maintain the weight that you gained and not gain much more. Good luck!

i would say that if you limit your calorie intake to a sensible no you certanly cant harm your baby
ive seen lots of women going through pregnancies not increasing their food intake at all and gaining only 5kg or so in total-im not saying that is what you want to do but just that all this -eat lots of good this or lots of nice lovely that is BS sure you need good stuff but being so focused on all this food intake means that is all you think about-meat friends do chores-forget about your stomach for a while.
and chilllllllll

Just eat healthy food (lots of veggies & fruits) & don't worry too much about your weight until after the baby. Avoid eating too much sugar to avoid risk of gestational diabetes. Think of the baby's health now, then once it is born and you are finished breastfeeding, then think of losing wieght if you still need to. (Breastfeeding also burns lots of fat!)
