Hi I need to solve tthis question but I don't understand how you work it out

In each of the following calculate the value of a and the corresponding value k

Q1. 16x(x+1)+k=(x-a)*

If there are 2 variables, and you need the answer rather than simplifying, then you will need another equation (simultaneous equations) I would have thought.

Ouch!! Jesus just wish i could work somthing like that out cos to me it looks like you need another number value before you could even try but then im blonde and was never any good at maths!!! Good luck :-P
