Yes it is true, research that women speaks 20,000 words a day,6,000 for men, but What if the wife only speaks 20 words a day, and no more! And when she is confronted by an attorney not for divorce, but other legal issues, she begins to speak, the husbands tells the wife shut up, I am talking! In groups, he saids to the wife, I am talking. Should I just not say nothing to him at all, and keep my words down to 10 words, and just let him figured out what my mind is thinking, I know he has not got the gift to read minds, but I am really getting really mad at him, and all this submission to him and giving sex to him at his needs, when he does not meet my emotional needs, He is the only one working, and having 3 special needs children, I am really getting stress!
AS a wife, what would you do? in my situation? We don't talk, all my talking goes with my frineds only, and usually the time we have is quiet! Please good advice for submissive Godly wife!

You have a controlling, emotionally abusive husband. It is NOT O.K. to tell your wife to "shut up" in public or in private. Since your husband wants you to be seen and not heard, you need to decide whether or not you want to put up with his abusive behavior. Do you like being a doormat?

I would suggest counseling but don't be surprised if he refuses. Men like your husband believe they are acting in an acceptable manner and YOU are the one with the problem.

Regardless of whether he is the only one working, if you decided to divorce him and leave, a clear 1/2 of everything is yours, as well as alimony and if you have the kids, child support.

The phrase "shut up" is considered a bad word in my house...it's equated with the "f" word.

If my husband ever told me to shut up in front of others, I'd give him a warning and the next time, well, it could be the end. Why so extreme? Because it's disrespectful. It would show me that he really doesn't value me as a human being nor anything that I say.

The vows include "honor". I see no honor in disrespecting your spouse by telling them to "shut up".

I personally think he is VERY disrespectful to you. Sounds like a male chavonist pig--a dominating man. I would not challenge him in front of others, but you betcha, when we were alone, I would give him more than 20 words worth of my thoughts! Have a backbone and SPEAK up for yourself. Don't cower down and let him run over you!

Tell him to shut up. You should never give anyone that kind of power over you. You have needs too. You should tell him if he can't talk to you then you are closing the goodies shop....Halfy/Halfy...What is good for the goose is good for the gander...and so on.

Say to him in a louder voice that he will not shut you up, this is America and you have freedom of speech. After you embarrass him in front of people, he might think twice about telling you to shut up. Seriously.

I don't get what you're whining about. If you married a controlling jerk - then what do you expect? Don't tell me he was the most sensitive and kind guy before, and then "changed" as soon as the marriage license was signed. You chose to marry him - so accept his quirks, what else is there to do? I can't even imagine being married to someone who disrespects me, I would rather be single.

You can be a good wife without having to be verbally abused.
