Be verry verrrry verrrrry sympathetic next time they have a problem. And remind them that you can't loan them anything else, since they didn't pay back the previous loan. And stand firm on that, no matter how many times they say, but I'll give them both back to you at the end of the *month, week, payday...whatever. (I've been there, and that's how I handled it. They still badmouth me every chance they get, and I still don't have my money back, not that I expected it!)
