It is most defiantly safe for you and your baby. They say that walking, sex and many other natural labor inducers work but there is no proven facts to any of it. usually they say if you are doing any of those things up until the day before your contracting and labor starts that is the only time any of it is effective. So you can stimulate your self as much as you want and most likely nothing will happen I know I have been trying everything myself for the last month and still am 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant. So have fun and don't worry about it starting labor just be easy if you are using toys you don't want to hurt your cervix. I wish you luck and congrats on your baby.

My OB told me there was nothing wrong with it...just like it's safe to have sex the whole time. If for some reason you are on pelvic rest (no sex) then masturbation probably wouldn't be a good idea.
It won't send you into labor unless you're body and the baby is really ready for it anyhow.

I read that nipple stimulation and sex were better labor inducers than anything else. Masterbation is along the same lines. So, unless you have had complications or your doctor doesn't want you to have sex - I think you're okay. But, to be honest with you - why isn't your partner helping out (didn't you need him to GET the baby)? (Although I do understand if masterbation feels more appealing than sex).
I wouldn't do it in the 9th month. If you are concerned ask your doctor (although I don't know how many masterbation questions they get during pregnancy.)

Hi there. I would say that since it is safe to have sex at this point in your pregnancy then it certainly is safe to mastubate! The only time that you should not make love is if you have lost your mucus plug or if your water has broken.
Having an orgasm will not start labor unless it was ready to start anyway!

It's definitly safe. Your uterus slightly contracts when you have an orgasm, but it won't do anything unless you are ready for labor. Obviosly your not, so don't worry about it. It's like exersice for your unterus. It's (I guess you could say) good for your body to help it prepare for labor.
