You got your words twisted bless.Well no i havent broke or fractured no bones in my body, but i do make fractured bones better.Im a orthopaedic plaster technician so my job is to apply all sorts off casts to fractured and broken limbs, manipulate if needed.Well going bck to youe toe, have you had a x-ray ?You have done the right thing in taping the toe to the other,if you havent seen dr yet please see one,as this may be a nasty fracture and may need surgery,or it just may be just badly bruised.Answering how long it will take to heal, well that all depends if you have a fracture or not.Fractures in the toes can take anything from 6-3mths all depending on the fracture and if you needed surgery, and bruising can take about 1 mth to feel a whole lot better.Well good luck.Oh paper lady A/E do actually treat fractures toes, all depending how bad the fracture is and the position off the fracture.

A broken bone generally takes 6 weeks to heal. Be sure to keep that toe elevated!

You've done the right thing there for your toe. A&E don't treat broken ones, just give you a pair of crutches. If it's broken it should be OK for Christmas.

My broken thing was when I fell over a lump of iron in a drive as I went to call on someone and fell literally flat on my face.
I broke my nose and looked like I'd been mugged, pouring with blood. I was only one street away from the hospital but made my husband run me 5 miles home so I could change my underwear for when I was examined. When we got home, I left a trail of blood all through the house up into the bedroom like a crime scene. Couldn't tell what I was putting on as it was dripping in my eyes.

Much later I mentioned my damaged nose to the house owner but she just said 'you can't break your nose, it's only cartiledge'. I'd been told I could sue for lack of duty of care to the public if you hurt yourself in a front garden and I wished I had.

Yes I broke my elbow and it took 6 weeks to heal. It takes about 6 weeks for a broken bone to heal suffiecently to stop been supported. It takes up to 18months to heal completely. I would go to your doctor to get it checked out if you think its broken.

More Info

Healing bone callus is on average sufficiently mineralized to show up on X-ray within 6 weeks in adults and less in children. This initial "woven" bone does not have the strong mechanical properties of mature bone. By a process of remodelling, the woven bone is replaced by mature "lamellar" bone. The whole process can take up to 18 months, but in adults the strength of the healing bone is usually 80% of normal by 3 months after the injury.

I hit my toe on a door post about 6 weeks ago and it hurt so much I could only hobble for a couple of days and I didnt get any shoes on for a week, I had to wear flip flops. Its only now got to the stage where it doesnt hurt unless I hit it against something hard. So, maybe after 6 weeks you will be ok...like me, hope so anyway!

I've never broken a toe. From what I hear, you did do the right thing though. A doctor can only do the same thing you did.

I have never ever broken anything or been seriously injured *touches wood* but you would probably need to keep it strapped up for about 2 weeks... even if it is broken you cant do anything with it so seein the doctor will just waste his and yours time!!!
Same with fingers and noses you just have to leave them to heal or just get them strapped to the one next to it.

I broke a toe years ago. If I remember right, it took about 4 weeks to improve. Just lately I broke a bone inside my elbow. That was three months ago and I still get pain in it.

theres nothing you can do about broken toes, but try and wear a shoe with a regid sole, this with keep your toe from bending and it will help with the pain, you can ice it for the pain as well, but it will probably be about 10 days before its not bothering you anymore

Goodluck!
