Your not actually associating race with "white" Mexicans are from Mexico, so calling them Browns isnt describing the way they look you are saying that because they are from there... they are browns...

Same with people from asia (by which I assume you mean the orient - since asia is HUGE and has a lot of countries in it where the people are decidedly not Yellow).

If you were saying that your Irish and everyone calls you white then that would make sense...

Why not call yourself caucasian and not white? Sure we could go around using physical traits as the descriptors for everyone... "fatties" "greasefaces" "pimple head" "lazy eyes" etc, but what good does that do?

Call people by their names... if you dont know it ask... if you need to generalize... generalize - but making it about race is dumb.

Everyone needs to stop being so sensitive...

Black is a illustration of anybody who has darker epidermis, yet isn't constrained to African individuals. maximum individuals does no longer be able to inform the version between an African American and shall we are saying someone from Haiti, Dominican Republic, or Trinidad. those human beings are not from now on African individuals, and calling someone which will be an same as calling a chinese human being Korean. that still solutions your 2d question, Asian is purely as diverse as black. Even Indians (from India) are considered Asian. through the way, some Mexicans and different South American human beings are referred to as brown. i have heard the time period both as endearing and racist relying on the context.

Because if you call certain races a specific color then you will start to over generalize. Asian Indians are Asian but most would not consider then yellow. Mexicans can be from a tannish tone to almost completely black. Try to not call anyone by color because you can run into a lot of various problems. If you choose not to call yourself white then it is all fine because you shouldn't have to be fixed to a label.

because people are entirely too touchy today. it has become somehow wrong to call a spade a spade in american society. things {and people} can BE what they are, you just can't CALL them what they are. so now the blacks are african americans, and the yella's are asians and the browns are hispanicals--i know, it's hispanic, but hispanicals is more fun to say--and the whites? we're still white. why? well, i guess it's because us white folks just don't gripe about being called white, for the most part. i'm sure we could get a shiny new name if we start whining every time some one calls us white. it's worked for the rest of them, don't you think?

by the way, my man is sicilian, and they do, indeed RULE!

I'd call you Sicilian unless I knew your name. Oh and by the way, Welcome to the United States! Where you are not African, caribbean, Irish, or even Canadian for that matter. You are classified by the color of your skin dispite your family nationality. A person would have to go back to the country that their family came from in order to be "Honored" for who they really are. It really doesn't matter. We should all just be either Male or Female. This rubbish has gone on far too long!

Just correct people when they call you "white", let them know you are Italian or Italian-American if you prefer. One of my best friends is Italian and she always corrects people who call her "white". BTW I got the chance to visit Italy this summer and it was FAB, one of the most beautiful places I have visited and the FOOD IS DELICIOUS I think I gained about ten pounds pigging out on EVERYTHING!!!! So instead of showing all this anger you should let people in so they can learn about the beautiful Italian culture.

You're not white, you're Caucasian and you can call me brown all you want but you have to realize not all Mexicans are brown. I have several Mexican friends that look black and there are some such as myself that are very light skinned. So go ahead and keep generalizing snow flake. ;)

Reverse racism is the new rage as the population of Caucasians diminishes their perceived status does not. To call a "white" a "white" is not a put down really it is a deference to our difference.

sure, i actually prefer being called brown... because iam not black? I think people call you white because it just stuck from when you used to be called the "white man". But what would you like to be called so I know what to refer to you as.

"White or Caucasian" are terms set forth by the United States Government and unfortunately "apply" to people of European descent. Should I look it up on the Internet for you and school you some more? Now dear, stop asking ignorant questions and look it up yourself, wikipedia is a great place to start... Good Luck...
