That is the problem!
To me Holden Caufield acts mature all the time except in the moments he tries to grow up!
The so called "mature people" are the ones that need to open their mind and their imagination!
Try Internet: "analysis holden caufield" or "catcher in the rye".

It's been years and years since I read that book, but I recall that he met some old guy at the beginning (place 1), then he ran into a friend downtown (place 2)and at the end he meets his little sister (place 3)
Best to do your own homework though
