i just got it and i was wondering how fast it really is

Like Wikipediak said, the CPU clock of the chip is 2 GHz. AMD's numbering scheme (Performance Rating) is meant to indicate relative performance among their CPUs. So a Sempron 3400 is twice as fast as an Athlon 1700.
