I'll be the first to say not all my stuff is great, but I have some stuff that rocks, but my girlfriend would rather me get read of my good stuff in exchange for her "Okay" stuff.

First of all, what is the "stuff"? That's a big part of the question. If we're talking furniture, you should get rid of whatever doesn't fit, or whatever doesn't look right in terms of matching your color scheme.
If we're talking about your lava lamp, or dark light.. then although in your mind that stuff rocks, she may view it as childish stuff.

Now, I don't know your girlfriend... so I don't want to jump over some imaginary line and insult you. But I will be blunt. Sometimes women just think they have the best taste in everything. Sometimes women are selfish, and seek control in areas like these. I'm not saying all women, I'm not even saying your woman. I'm just saying, this is one of the many possibilities.

Solution? Talk to her. Explain to her your reasons for wanting to keep certain things, over her certain things. If necessary, play the childish game of you pick one thing, I pick one thing. Try to be reasonable and meet on some kind of middle ground. If she has something nicer than you, admit to it, and say "we should use your ______ because mine sucks or is ugly or whatever. "
If she's completely unreasonable, and doesn't want ANY of your things.. are you sure moving in is the best idea?

It's strategy. Some women like to put walls or barriers around every relationship so they feel more secure.

First, your stuff goes. That way, it makes it a lot harder for you to move out. It also establishes who makes the decisions, which is a slippery slope indeed.

If you let your stuff go, the second thing to go is your female friends. Slowly they'll end each of your female friendships to take away any competition. It's a security thing.

Third, your manhood goes. She'll want to govern your time, your finances, your friends and eventually your opinion on things. This is where all the testosterone is slowly squeezed out of your system.

If this is the kind of girlfriend she is...RUN! Find a girl who'll "love your stuff" because she loves you...

When my husband moved in with me, he has a few things that bugs me. But I am not going to control him and what he wants to do. However, we do compromise! Most of the furniture is mine and he came from a bedroom at his parents' house, so that was easy to deal with.

The knickknacks we rearrange and find places for him to have his items and I have mine. There are things of mine that he doesn't like either. We actually have a shelf of miscellaneous items of his and mine that are not conventional, but it works. Hopefully we will have a home some day where we can have a den and a place for us to be more flexible of our own tastes.

To you it rocks to your gf it is tacky. My poor bf has the same problem I wont let him put any of his stuff up. If it was up to him our place would have deer antlers and fishing stuff everywhere. But he does get one place to do whatever he wants. You need a guy spot where you can go and be a man. She should let you have the garage or a room of your own to do whatever makes you happy.

Easy answer--women think men have no sense of style.

Look at how you dress when you are around her. Did you change your appearance after you started dating her? All part of the game. There have been many disatrous attempts of men implying their will in this matter.

Just roll with it.

I think you should look at that, as this sounds like the beginning of the rest of your life. If you like being directed what to do, then do it, if not, RUN!
