in OoT, the triforce exists in three parts.

courage, which is owned by the hero of the land
wisdom, which is owned by the princess of the land
power, which is owned by the antithesis to the hero

no single person is supposed to ever be able to have all three parts, as that would give them the power of the gods

there is no way to gather all of the parts while you play ocarina of time - and if you did, what could you possibly gain? sounds like a game over to me.

in the first game, for nintendo, you got the whole triangle, but that was only the triforce part of courage, it wasn't all three parts.

No, the triforce is not able to be obtained within the game. That's a rumor that was started awhile ago, but has never been proved yet. However, there has been some talk about a Game Shark code (N64) that would let you find the triforce, but I watched the video and I think it was only a picture of the triforce on Link's hand. I hope that clears some of that rumor up.
