On web sites that give you so much time for a trial. If you delete all cookies they still seem to know how much time you have used.

Aside from cookies, the server itself more than likely keeps information about your computer and how long it can access the site for free. One option is to store your IP address which may or may not change very often. Another option would be to read information from the TCP header that is sent when you access sites. From information posted, it could possibly find and store the name of your computer which is unlikely to change. Other options are possible as well, but the information is definately stored on the server and that is used to validate the time you have free.

It is encoded in the website servers. you can do nothing about this. if u meant a trial version of a program, however, then it is in one of the dll's (dynamic loading libraries) that the program uses. either way you can do nothing if you can't recompile the dll without a new time code.(don't ask i have no idea how)
