While some of the questions you have asked are a bit less than tactful, I wouldn't call you a racist. You probably have little tolerance for ignorance and stupidity.

Given complete freedom all people are racist. That's why every time civilization breaks down the world reverts to tribes, clans, and ethnicities. Don't make the mistake of believing we're the most advanced people who ever lived. We're already in decline, and never got anywhere near the level of the Greek or even the Roman attainments, not to even mention the completely mysterious people who built the pyramids. We are more akin to that which was called Babylon. Our technology gives us the false impression that we are far advanced, when in reality we've only just now begun experimenting with social engineering, a practice which always leads to collapse into a lowest common denominator, followed by the disinterest of the masses who no longer have any incentive for the improvement of an impersonal and stagnating society, and begin reverting into groups which have more in common with themselves. Then eventually one group or another will develop a system that attracts a wider circle and the cycle begins all over. Nothing under the sun is new.

Based on your first statement, no, I wouldn't think you were racist. I did read your "ghetto Latina" question and it didn't exactly come across well even though I think I understand what you were trying to say. When you stress the word 'uneducated' when referring to a stereotype within a race it somehow makes it sound even more racist. With the Latina question, it seemed like you were saying that Hispanic girls who look a certain way are all obviously uneducated and only uneducated people live in a ghetto. Saying you knew a lot of Latinas who were 'educated' made it sound like you thought that wasn't the norm. It's really difficult to ask questions about any stereotype without out sounding like a racist especially on Y!A.

Racism is not an individual problem rather that of the society. An individual person can have prejudice against other races. Anyone can be performing racism and not no it because we have grown into a society that still harbors some racist views. Why is it when you imagine an American most people would detail them as being White. When you ask an Asian person where are they from you dont expect them to say California or some state but rather a country where their ancestors lived. Racism does not mean hatred towards another race but rather an unequal treatment or opportunies.

Sad to say, but yes you are racist. Here are the reason I used to come to my conclusion:
1. You have to ask. Maybe you are seeking approval in you method of discrimination, but most likely you are racist and seek to justify it.
2. Highlighting the word uneducated gives the impression of a holier than thou attitude. Education is a tool not a quality. Education makes you more efficient, it does not make you a better person.
3. Never trust anyone that says that they have many friends because people with many friends don't have the time to count them. By the same token, never trust people who mention they have friends of many different ethnic backgrounds because at a certain point in the friendship race is no longer the issue. I will never say that I have many friends with fat noses, unless I discriminate against people with fat noses.
By the way, I am hispanic, so please hate me.

I think if you are asking questions it is so you can gain as accurate knowledge as possible. There is nothing racist about that. It actually think that's kinda brave, because many people are misinformed about other ethnic groups which often lead to acts of racism. So kudos to you for at least attempting to understand other ethnicities cultural differences, instead just assuming you know it all. All the best.

Hi,,,, so do you believe that ,,,, people that have say a PhD in Mathmatics..... are smarter than a auto mechanic, with a high school education????
Could they,, swap jobs?? or lets say a carpenter instead...
The point that i am trying to get you to see is, you cannot judge a person, because of their education on their ability to lead a productive life....
Thank-you for the question though... i enjoyed it ...
good luck
