I've got an 8 week old and a 3 year old. It is hard when people ask when the baby is due! Don't get discouraged though. One thing I do is turn on some music and dance. My older daughter loves to dance and I hold the baby while dancing. Try to do some sit ups or while you're doing anything, suck in your stomach and hold it as long as you can. Just like doing your Kegels, it will eventually tighten up. There is also stuff (like lotion) to put on your stomach to tighten up the skin. I think it's made by Biotherm but it's kind of pricey.

Congrats on your baby and good luck!!

Studies say that after having a baby, it takes a total of 18 months before your body is fully recovered, which is why you're having trouble losing the weight. My daughter is 9 months old and I still have a little tummy. What my doctor told me is to avoid the new mommy snacking cycle (where we just grab quick stuff or snacks to eat because lets face it, we don't have time to plan healthy with a screaming baby on our hip, and snacks aren't quite nutritious), to keep my fridge stocked with grapes, carrots, stuff like that, and graham crackers and trail mix and such for when you only have time to grab something, and also stay active until your baby is a year old, at that point, it'll be worth your while to actually diet. Until then, just keep doing what you're doing. The most important thing is that you and your baby are healthy.

Some of the tummy may be from the over stretched skin but you can try wrapping it up tightly and using lots of cocoa butter or olive oil like doctors do for patients with surgeries to get the skin to retract.

As for the tummy fat go on Atkins and see if it helps. I heard it works for alot of people.

The best advice that I was given was to suck your belly in when ever you think about it. Try to make your belly button touch your backbone and hold it for as long as you can and repeat it as much as you can. LIke when your doing the dishes or laundry just suck it in.. It really does help. I know being a new mom myself that you really dont have much time to exercise..so maybe you should try it out.. Its almost has erased my baby pooch :)

Make sure you're not eating too many foods that bloat you. Carbonated drinks will make your tummy stay big. Fatty/greasy meats also make the weight stay on you. I have 4 kids and I'm 26 yrs. old. I had lots of older folks tell me how to keep from staying bloated looking.

There are all sorts of exercises for waist muscles. Check your library or magazine rack.

Simple things like standing up and moving your torso from side to side and leaning forward then leaning back works well.

You sound so petite. It is difficult to get rid of baby belly. Ignore those comments - look at your precious baby and let that be the center of attention.

crunches and situps help tighten bak up but loose skin is the devil! I've had my third and final child so I feel I can fianlly work on this myself too. Good luck.

AS SOON AS I HAD MY BABY, I HAD SOME ONE WRAP MY TUMMY UP WITH SOMETHING REALLY TIGHT TO PUSH MY STOMACH IN, AND THAT DID IT FOR ME, BUT YOU CAN STILL DO IT, WHEN YOU DO IT GO FOR A POWER WALK TO MAKE YOUR SELF SWEAT A LIL, DO THIS EVERYDAY, FOR ABOUT 1 MONTH, AND YOU SHOULD SEE A DIFFERENCE.

You should do stomach crunches as much as you can and this will go away. Do all the stomach exercises you can think of.
