My daughter-in-law was dialated 1 or 2 centimeters for 2 or 3 weeks. You will know when the contractions start, believe me. Try not to worry, you will have that baby when it is ready to be born. It will be worth every contraction. Good luck and God Bless!

I'm dialated to 1 cm and right now I can tell you I've had some "true" contractions I guess. really bad back pain mostly for me, but then the doc said today that it could be "back labor" oh well... I guess I'll find out soon.

Good luck!

Everybody is different. My true labor contractions felt like really bad menstrual cramps. Usually Braxton-Hicks are in your lower abdomen and very irregular and painless. True labor contractions tend to radiate up from your back towards the front. The increase in regularity and strength. Good luck!
