You need a repeater, which is a device that retransmit what it "heard". You need to place it somewhere between your PC and the AP.

Some APs also have repeater functionality. Check for "WiFi repeater" products.

If you buy a long-range belkin router and plug that in, then send the signal through a high frequency line the speed will increase by tonnes and the signal will be amplified

A transistor is biassed to permit it to faithfully enhance a sign with out distortion. It additionally gadgets a "minimum" DC point for an enter AC sign, and the AC point is such that as quickly as the voltage rises to top, it keeps to be interior the "linear" selection. "AC" indicators are amplified all the time, in case you prefer to seem at it that way. permit's seem at an uncomplicated audio amplifier point. no count if it rather is fed a sine wave, the sine wave is biassed to be interior the linear selection (the straightest part of its reaction curve, easily). for that reason on the output, an amplified sine wave looks. it remains "biassed" to be a sine wave inspired on a DC voltage. This DC voltage in no way is going to 0, yet keeps to be the two beneficial or detrimental (looking on transistor form), yet rises and falls in sympathy with the enter sign. The transistor basically amplifies the adjustments in a DC voltage, with the objective to chat. The amplified AC sign is rather separated from the DC element, leaving basically an AC sinewave at the back of, an amplified version of the enter sign.

Although you MIGHT be able to hook up an external high-gain antenna (unless you have a built-in wireless NIC) you also have the issue of the transmit power on the other end to contend with. Unless you can get them to install a high-gain antenna there as well, it's not going to do you much good to hook one up to your computer.
