The Spanish are Caucasian. Those in the north have more Celtish and Basque origins, while those in the South have (to some degree) a bit of Arab/Berber heritage. Roman influence also came onto the original Iberians. And let's not forget the Germanic infusion that came in after the fall of the Roman Empire. All in all, it's safe to say the Spanish are a people who mostly composed of all manners of "whiteness."

If I were the labeling sort I would call them "Hispanic". In general though I just consider a human to be a human.

The FBI will categorize persons by their race and their complexion.
For example, white, with dark complexion covers Arabs with dark skin and hispanics with dark skin. It also covers caucausians with dark skin.
The 3 races identified by the FBI for registering persons are asian, black, or caucausian.
