If you want more answers and better ones you need to have the first three words of you question give the viewer the info they need to know.
When you post "mystery' questions you don't get many replys.
I am guilty too of posting questions where people don't know what I am asking till they click on it but you get more response if you can make the top line a full headline and give the guts of what you need to know.
Try "MovieMaker problem it crashes How can I fix it?"
that way everyone scanning the list with a which one should I bother with attitude will know what you want and you will get people who know MM better than I do.
When I have programs crashing like that the first thing I check is to see if it is double installed. If there are two files (original and updated) you need to uninstall everything and check your computer for lose files relating to it and delete those too and then when it is all gone reinstall. That is only one possible reason and solution. (maybe)

Sounds like it has been corrupted down load it again from microsoft see link but before you do try running (dskchk /r) to recover any damaged files. This may take a while but if it doesnt solve your problem aleast you will have cleaned up your disk.
Click Start
Click Run and type in dskchk /r it may say that it cant do it at the moment would you like to preform it at the next reboot type Y if it does
Reboot and wait for it to run the disk check and recovery
If you still have problems then download from microsoft
Hope that helps

If your using the movie maker that came with your windows xp (I'm assuming that's what your using) go to www.microsoft.com and go to updates. The site will automatically scan your system and look for any necessary updates or recommended updates. Try loading the updates it recommends then try using the application again.

OK, try this: go to the System Restore feature of Windows, and go back to a time when WMM actually worked. Otherwise, you may want to check out Windows Update for anything that has come out recently.
